Rustic wedding at Collingwood Children’s Farm - Bryden and Ash

We had such a privilege to be the wedding photographer and videographer of this beautiful, mature and lighthearted couple. The wedding was held at the famous Collingwood Children’s Farm. Ash looked absolutely stunning in her custom-made designer dress, and Bryden proved he is such a gentleman by looking after Ash all the time.

Please check out some of the wedding photos from this fantastic wedding day.

About The Couple

Ashlee's dad has described her as a very organised woman and also a happy girl with a lot of fantastic characters - lovely, friendly and a pleasure to be with. Bryden is known as most loyal, caring, protective and loving partner to Ash and an excellent father to Billy, responsible, caring, a nice gentleman. They have built an amazing life together. They have a beautiful home full of laugh and happiness, and an adorable son - Billy. The love they have has made them even better people than they were before. Together they are even stronger.

The Moments of the Day

Before the ceremony, Bryden wrapped a big gift box for Ashlee. Ashlee opened it and found a diary in it. She turned the page to the date of that day and found there was a letter he wrote to her. She read the letter in surprise and cried after reading it. Bryden also bought her a gorgeous gift, but she wanted to keep it as a secret.

And Ashlee also bought a pair of socks as a gift for her dad. And the socks had some special text on it - "Special Socks for a Special Walk".

At the speeches, the bridesmaids presented a jar of pickles as a gift for the couple as it symbolised the cause of their love story.

The Love Story

Some people don't know they knew each other when they were quite young.

Bryden being 17 and Ashlee was an order 19-year-old cougar. They met at a night club hotspot. They still laugh because Bryden describes it as Love at First Sight, whereas Ashlee describes it as being more interested in a Midori Shalk as it sat sweet and hot.

After a couple of years, they both went separate ways. And like any other good love stories and themselves back together a few years later. And as fate would have it, it was at another Sunbury hotspot, The Royal.

They bonded over a love of pickles and never been apart since. They have created many different memories together at different stages of their lives. And have grown up as a couple.

The main achievement they have made was being loving parents to their adorable son Billy. They are proud of themselves for creating fun and stable foundation for him to grow and thrive in.

The Ceremony

Bryden and Ashlee wanted the ceremony to create a path of strength and unity. The declaration at the ceremony would give support, sharing understanding and belonging. They wanted it to represent a union of their love and friendship, and they would grow with the knowledge they have found their life companions. They chose to take the vows of marriage as a statement of their commitment and respect for each other, expressing the love and desire to remain together always.

The Vows

This lovely couple made personalised vows to each other. In Bryden's vow he promised not only to love her and care for her with all his heart, but also to always buy her a cheap kebab on a Sunday if she hangover, always let her watch silly reality TV shows and get sucked in and watch with her.

In Ashlee's vow, she thanked him for teaching her every day that being herself was what made her special, for telling her she is beautiful every single day. She said her mission was to one day make Bryden look at her the same way he looks at a big plate of taco with hot sauce. But not being a surprise, they had the same quote at the end of their vows - "Most of all, I promised to stay young in our hearts while growing old together forever."

The Venue

Collingwood Children's Farm is an inner city farm located on the Yarra River in Abbotsford. It is right next to the Abbotsford Convent. Bryden and Ashlee had an outdoor ceremony in front of the vast Oaktree with incredibly beautiful and colourful hanging flowers decorated on the branches, and with Yarra River seating right at the back.

The reception area offers both indoor and outdoor spaces for guests to mingle and enjoy the night, with a capacity of 120 people seated and 160 for cocktail style. It makes a very peaceful and close-to-natural feeling. The over 100 years old barn offers a rustic charm that is unique in the modern Melbourne city area.

They offered the guests two huge cheese platters before the reception and roaming food for the night. The food was carefully prepared from seasonal local produce and designed to be shared. There were plenty of options.
