When Abbie and Josh first got in touch with me about their wedding, I was so excited – they were planning a laid back autumnal wedding with a church ceremony and beachfront venue for the reception. Abbie and Josh are a very young couple and the sweetest people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!

The excitement before the wedding

I started at an airbnb, where the boys were getting ready, and it was so much fun, because they played footy and Josh performed juggling tricks. Abbie wore a classic white dress and Josh wore a three-piece suit and they looked really incredible.

The ceremony

The wedding took place at Trinity Presbyterian Church, and was a traditional service. They had live streaming service to connect with family and friends who couldn't not be there due to COVID restrictions, which everyone enjoyed. After the ceremony they walked down the aisle together, and then we went and did some beautiful portraits.

The reception

The wedding reception took place The Harbour Room in St Kilda, which was adorned with beautiful flowers. It was so wonderfully personalised.

It was a beautifully sunny day, which was perfect for photos. While the guests enjoyed canapes and cocktails, we wandered around the garden doing fun and creative portraits. My favourite photo from our couples session is the bride glowing in the sunlightin front of the greenhouse of St Kilda Botanic Gardens. Check it out below!

During the reception they had a lovely meal with friends and family, which made the reception really chilled. After cutting the delicious wedding cake, they shared their first dance, and it was the best time of the night when all the people jumped on the dance floor. Afterwards, they had some wonderful speeches. The best part is one of their friends pretended cutting of a piece of Josh's hair because Josh made a promise to cut off his hair when he finds a girl friend, which was hilarious and everyone couldn't stop laughing.
