Endless skies, azure water lapping at the shoreline, sandy beaches, and sunshine warming you up from your head to your toes... Sounds like a dream, yeah? Well, that was the recipe for Louise and Cam’s wedding held at Fairhaven Beach on the breathtaking Great Ocean Road. Obviously, it was a deliriously perfect, photo-worthy day:

Louise wore the prettiest wedding dress that fit seamlessly into the cream-coloured sand and blue skies, and we love that Cam wore a suit with Navy blazer? A flowing linen top and bottom that complimented her dress.

And I know what you’re thinking… what kind of shoes do you wear to a beach wedding? Definitely not heels… The answer is Nothing! They went barefoot!

“Getting married on the beach and Great Ocean Road was my dream!” the bride told us about why they chose this location for their wedding.

My only question now is… when can we go back?! But seriously, congratulations Louise & Cam! May your future be filled with beaches and days as glorious as this!

When Louise and Ross first got in touch with me about their wedding, I was so excited – they were planning the most exciting Great Ocean Road wedding with a beautifully decorated beach ceremony. Louise and Ross are the loveliest people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!

BRIDAL PREP

I started at a luxury beach house, where the bridal party were getting ready together, and it was really exciting, because all the girls were there. Louise wore a classic white dress and Ross wore a navy suit and they looked really amazing.

THE WEDDING

The wedding took place at a beach on Great Ocean Road, and was a romantic intimate ceremony. They had their fur baby - a Bernese Mountain Dog there as well, which was very meaningful to them. After the ceremony there was a big cheer from everyone, and then we went and did some beautiful portraits on the stunning beach.

AFTER THE CEREMONY

The wedding reception took place Fairhaven Life Saving Club, which was full of fairy lights outside. It was really unique.

It was a beautifully sunny day, which was what the couple had hoped for. While the guests enjoyed the free bar, we wandered around the venue doing fun and creative portraits. My favourite photo from the portraits is the couple dancing under the fairy lights. Check it out below!

During the reception they had a photobooth, which everyone loved. For the meal they had a buffet, and it was super yummy. Afterwards, the band kicked off the party and the musician kept everyone entertained all evening. They also had sparklers, which was the perfect way to seal the night.

TOP TIP FOR PLANNING A WEDDING

A sunny day on the beach can be very warm, so prepare some umbrellas to block the sun. And also prepare some beach thongs for the guests to wear.
