Kate and Jason got married at the spectacular Morning Star Estate, Mornington. It was a stunning outdoor wedding, with breathtaking ocean view and beautiful vineyard to keep guests entertained.

THE CEREMONY

The ceremony took place on the lawn with white wooden chairs. And it was decorated with Hydrangea, which was lovely. The ceremony included the couple saying personal vows they’d written themselves. It was a romantic occasion, full of nervous giggles.

After the ceremony, we did portraits in the garden, which is such a great time for the newly married couple to have some time to let it sink in. There were so many good spots for great wedding photo opportunities - the field, the vineyard, the heritage building. We got some really fun photos with the hay bale on the farm. The weather was springlike, overcast and with light sea breezes, it was a perfect day.

THE OUTDOOR WEDDING

The reception was held in the estate. The venue is perfect for weddings because it’s near the beach, and it’s got such a romantic vibe, especially in the evenings when the sun goes down.

For the reception, the couple had organised a Polaroid guest book for their guests, and everyone had a blast. Guests were then called for food, which was a meat feast – it was delicious.

THE PARTY

After the speeches, they had their first dance, and the dancefloor was packed all evening. The DJ kept everyone entertained all evening.

The evening ended with a ‘last dance’, which was so much fun, and everyone had a great time. The whole outdoor wedding was just the happiest occasion, from the bride’s awesome dress to the last dance.

THE VENUE

With unparalleled views to the bay and Melbourne City, Morning Star Estate has been one of the most famous venues in Mornington Peninsula and is a dream place for every couple and Melbourne wedding photographer. It was built as a luxury country getaway in 1867 and renovated in the 1940s.

Unfortunately, this beloved event venue has been permanently closed for public. And Lavan Photography has surely enjoyed our time spent at all the gorgeous weddings at this property.
