{ morgan // ben } - the burrow daylesford

Morgan and Ben’s wedding day was like watching a sunset so beautiful you never wanted it to end. This bohemian wedding at the burrow in daylesford was a photographer's paradise—a beautiful venue tucked away into a quiet forested area—complete with rustic seating using cut logs and wooden benches for seating, a gorgeous view of the soaring trees in the background, and a winding path all the way up to the altar. So much of this wedding was too lovely to put into words—that’s why I’m a photographer.

All the natural light in the morning was glorious for getting ready pictures and those special commemorative moments before the ceremony. The bride and her bridesmaids helped each other with the finishing touches while the groom and his groomsmen shared a drink. These moments before the ceremony are always a joy to be savored. Even though it may seem like the anticipation might kill you, it will all be worth it in the end looking back.

The contrasting colors of the wedding party’s attire were fun to take pictures of in the morning before the ceremony. Classy, muted tones of black and off shades of white. The winding paved path Morgan and Ben walked along to the altar cut through the grassy hillside, ending in a lovely modern wooden structure with decadent bunches of flowers bursting through. A forest of soaring trees stood pristinely in the background. Vows were said under this lovely structure—Classy, bohemian, rustic, and beautiful. The gentle breeze of the afternoon tickled the faces of all the family and friends gathered to celebrate the union of two souls together, reminding everyone of the beauty and blessing it is to be where we’re at. It was the perfect Melbourne outdoor wedding ceremony.

Morgan’s dress fit with the bohemian style of the wedding and she wore it with the grace and confidence of a woman who believes in the love she is committing herself to. This sweet couple was the definition of grace. They moved with a naturalness throughout the day that was light and easy. The look in their eyes was total respect and support for one another—just another reason this wedding was a joy to photograph.

A special moment during the day was the photo shoot in the forest after the ceremony. It was a special moment to celebrate, and it was also a beautiful change of scenery to the day. The fallen logs decorating the lush green ground with clumps of trees made for a beautiful and fun photo session. Walking along the huge trees and fallen wooden logs was a fun activity, and traipsing through the forest made for a magical and memorable moment. This was truly the perfect place to share a special moment on your wedding day. The photos after the ceremony are a testament to the beauty of Melbourne and the surrounding area. It is a blessing to be a Melbourne wedding photographer and get to see such beauty daily.

The vintage convertible cars were an added delight. The sleek and small body of the vehicle against the natural greenery of the untouched forest could not have made for a better shot. They even matched the color scheme of the wedding—black and white. Simply perfection..

The reception was the perfect way to close the night. The string lights and pergola made the paved dance floor a magical place, and it was so much fun to witness all the genuine joy and happiness on everyone’s faces.

Congratulations to this sweet couple! Thanks so much for letting me be a part of such a special and beautiful day.
