Ways to Assist Your Creative Team on Your Wedding Day

Here are some helpful ways to assist your photography and videography team on your wedding day. Taking care of some logistical details and making their day a little easier will be deeply appreciated and also might help your day run more smoothly.

Prepare Getting Ready Props

If you put all your wedding details such as the jewelry, shoes and veil in one place before the photography and video team arrive, they can arrive and get to work without bothering you. Your hair and make-up artist will be glad too. You will find the time before the ceremony is full of interruptions and getting ready on time is a challenge.

Give Them Advance Notice

Give your photo and video people advance notice if you are giving gifts to anyone in the bridal party, including the groom, so they can capture the heartfelt moments. Also, let them know about any details that wouldn't be obvious. For example, if you have hand-sewn a message inside your dress, let them know if you would like it documented.

Invest In Accessories and Decorations

Photographers adore weddings with a lot of pretty details to photograph. A personalized ring box, some luxurious wedding stationery and some bride-to-be accessories will add some glam to your wedding day and look great in the photos.

These items are not must-haves, but as well as being lovely for photos, they are also sentimental keepsakes of your big day.

Be a Flower Fairy

For getting ready, a small posy of flowers can be helpful for styling wedding details. Arrange a small vase to arrive when the hair and make-up artist arrives, so it is ready to be used with the photographer arrives. Your stylist will probably like to have some flowers for your hair too, so it might be an idea to prepare plenty.

Prepare a Ladder

Ask your venue manager or wedding planner to have a ladder ready for group shots after the ceremony. If someone who knows most of the guests can help gather family and friends for photos, the process will flow much more quickly and smoothly. Then you can get that open bar happening all the much sooner.

Don't Let Them Go Hungry

Working long hours at a wedding is physically and mentally demanding and often there is a long time between breaks. By dinner time the whole team will be starving, so it is polite to provide a meal and non-alcoholic drinks for your photography team as they still have many hours of work ahead.

All of these small gestures will help the professional photographers and videographers record your lovely day in a more effortless manner. They are sure to comment on how you are the most helpful bride ever. They work hard all day long, so will appreciate your efforts.
